Time to play catch up..

Hey all! So sorry I've been a little M.I.A lately...

At the moment I am home, taking a break from the studio and relaxing in the air conditioning for a bit. It is simply AMAZING! The studio has been quite the challenge this past week. My kiln has been telling me the room temperatures has been fluctuating between 82 & 95 degrees!!! CALIENTE!!! So my making has been a bit less enjoyable to say the least!

Aside from the cranky studio heat factor.. all else is pretty fabulous!

I started up my show season with my home show here in Fairhaven this past weekend. I love that show for so many different reasons. But, my absolute favorite reason is the wonderful people I meet. I get lots of friendly faces from folks who have pieces of mine they've either bought directly from me, or received as a gift. They stop by and tell me a story about how my pottery has been, where they display it or use it, and how they & their friends adore it! It is the greatest feeling to hear about the life of my little creations once they are out into the world. It's like my they are writing mom to say hi, and life is good! Its nice to see that people are happy with their purchases, and continue to add onto their collection. It is a HUGE compliment and I am so grateful! :) It feels really good to be back into the swing of things, setting up my tent and my wares on the weekend. It is definitely my favorite time of year.

I took this coming weekend off to enjoy the holiday with family and friends. I'm a HUGE fan of fireworks, so I'm pretty excited not to miss them this year! A little tradition of ours is to meet up at a local University, UMASS Dartmouth and watch the local POPS orchestra perform outdoors while we enjoy a picnic on the lawn followed by fireworks over head! I can not wait!

So in the meantime, I'll be working on catching up with stock and testing out some new designs. I made these at the studio today. They are my compliment to my "Sexy Bitch" dishes that were a HUGE HIT this weekend. I thought it would be funny as a couple to own a pair.. "Sexy Bitch" for her, and "Stud Muffin" for him! haha.. We'll see how they go!

Have a great week! Will you be beaching it or working on some new goodies like me?!

Hi Chrissy, great to see you are doing well with shows too. I know exactly what you mean about the customers coming back to chat, tell you about the item they bought from you, and sometimes buy another piece :) Thats what I like about returning to the same events.
I've just done a weekend show that went really well, some details on my blog. Now I need to get busy making more stock :)
