First holiday show of the season!

I will be kicking off my 2011 holiday season tomorrow in beautiful Northampton Mass over at the Northampton Center for the Arts! I am SO EXCITED!!!

I was there for the 2011 spring show and had a FABULOUS time. Honestly.. it is the BEST show I have ever done! The organizers are amazing.. they gather an AMAZING group of artists and designers mix it up with fun tunes from a local dj, local grub & local brew! AMAZING!!!

I also made some fab artist friends during the last show, so I am also thrilled to be able to hang out with everyone for the weekend! We will be there from 5-9 tomorrow night & 10-6 Saturday!

For more information, the participating artists list, and directions visit their website at www.TwistFair.com

Hope to see you! It will be a BLAST I promise! xo

Studio Holiday Sale is this weekend!!!

Hatch Street Studios Annual Holiday Sale is this weekend! It's the "happening" place to be the day after Thanksgiving! Wander through artists' studios exhibiting and selling handmade clothing, accessories, drawings, furniture, glass, jewelry, lotions, paintings, pottery & sculpture! Find unique holiday gifts or add to your own collection.

Continuing the spirit of Thanksgiving, this year we are collecting can goods for the St. Anthony's of Padua Food Pantry. There will be collection centers on each floor. As art and artists continue to revitalize the city of New Bedford, this is another way we can show our appreciation!

Don't want to walk off your Thanksgiving dinner on our stairs this year?!?! Personal elevator service with an attendant is available. Just look for the signs and the wooden steps at the side of the building.

Black Friday 2-8pm, Saturday 10-5, Sunday 11-5.

Come & visit me in my studio for some fun shopping! For directions and artist info check out our website at www.hatchstreetstudios.com

Suite #302. Hope to see you! xo

Thanksgiving is here... (almost)

It's official people... the holidays are here and you know what that means.

Tis' the season to be crafting more than you've ever craft before!

It's a super rainy day here in New Bedford Massachusetts. I've been working at the studio since about 8:30am after dropping off Miss Thumbelina with our dear friend Lynne the dog groomer. It took me about 2 hours to carefully pack my kiln fuller than she's ever been, but I managed to get everything in for this weekend's studio sale. I can't believe how much stuff I have crammed in to it.. I am SO VERY EXCITED to open it up first thing tomorrow!!! :) A couple of new designs will be available, mainly holiday oriented. It's always exciting to see how a new design will roll with my regulars!

Good news is that I'm ahead of the game compared to past years which is amazing considering I am the world's biggest procrastinator. My studio is nearly set up already! The studio christmas tree is up, christmas lights galore, furniture set up & polished, most of my work is even tagged and on display! AMAZING!!! If you know me personally, you know usually I am a mad woman morning of. I guess 30's are making me more responsible! ;)

Why still stressed you ask? Well, unknowingly I booked myself five shows (7 days) pretty much back to back, and I'm hoping to have enough work to go around. So I'm getting ready for those now allowing new work to dry then bisque, then glaze. We will see!

So time to kick back with this darling glass of merlot I've been sipping and listen to a little Gaby Moreno. She is wonderful! She's from Guatemala originally, now living in LA, singing in both english and spanish beautifully! Such a pleasure, we got to meet after a show she headlined last week at the Zeiterion theatre here in town with my favorite, Ani Difranco. Let me tell you, I have not stopped listening to Gaby's cd since! I love finding new music! She is rockin.. I promise! Check her out, tell me what you think!

Have a great Thanksgiving and if you are local, please stop by the Hatch Street Studios holiday show! Check www.hatchstreetstudios.com for more info.

oh *sniffle*

Taking it easy today, the week before my studio holiday sale. Not by choice of course, just feeling a little under the weather. Started with a sneezing fit & now its the whole shebang.. coughing, sneezing, stuffy head, sore body nonsense. NOT NOW!!!

What can a girl do?!

So I dragged my pretty little self out of bed around 11am (Tylenol pm had knocked me out!) Then carried myself and a 25 pound bag of clay up 65 stairs & down a super long hallway to my studio as fast as I could, avoiding conversation at all cost! Today conversation alone could drain the last few drops of energy I still possess!

I did manage to work a tiny bit. I cleaned up and drilled holes into about 50 porcelain holiday ornaments I left to dry on Saturday. They came out really lovely! Washed my hands and called it a day!

I feel super guilty being home with my feet up, carton of orange juice by my side, Tom and Jerry keeping me entertained. Sometimes things are just beyond your control.

I hope you are having a productive Monday! ~Ciao
