The Sketchbook Project

I just signed up for the Sketchbook Project! I am so excited to get started.. I'll have to go shopping for some drawing materials tomorrow! Have you heard about it?!

In a nutshell, "It's like a concert tour but with sketchbooks" Thousands of sketchbooks are collected from people around the world from artists, to children, to moms and dads. Each sketchbook has a chosen theme, then are on tour across the US until later finding their home at the Brooklyn Art Library. While on tour, you can check in on your book to see where it is, and how many times it was looked at within a day. They also offer the option to digitize your sketchbook so you can view it online or link it to your website. There is no jury, you just have to use the sketchbook they send you, commit to a theme, and complete the book then mailing it in.

Looks like they'll be on tour in Portland Maine, and Brooklyn New York of course.. two lovely destinations I enjoy day tripping to every once in awhile! Looks like I have another road trip planned!

So I ordered mine today and chose "I'm sorry I forgot you" in RED! I thought it would be nice to acknowledge things within my every day that I overlook and I can consciously appreciate their beauty and log them into my book. We will see what develops!

I'll share some imagery with you once I begin. I would love to hear from anyone else out there participating!

Here is the link if you would like to join the party!
I hope you do!!! http://arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject

Best of luck! xo, Chrissy

So glad you posted this! I saw the sketchbook project a while back, got really excited about it, and then forgot to order my sketchbook! I'm glad I didn't miss out - it looks like such an awesome thing to be a part of.
